Wind in the Forest
I wanted to create a visual environment that defied temperature, a scene that looks so real, but yet, something isn’t quite right. This woman comes cascading through, upsetting everything from birds to coffee cups, an urgency in her mission. I like that this could be literal, she really could be doing this, but I also like the idea that this is metaphorical, as if she and her tiger are representative of a feeling rather than an action. While making this piece, I kept thinking of the movement and weightlessness in Princess Mononoke, as well as the mission to rid oneself of hate, or to learn how to adapt to it.

My oh my I had fun with this piece @thebayshorelife ✨I knew before installation that I was going to be battling the cold and wind, but I figured if I’m already out painting, so why shouldn’t I make the artwork as complicated as I can? While install was difficult, I am so proud and excited about how these new colors and new shapes fit within my portfolio.
